Before you start any gas mower maintenance, always disconnect the spark plug and, secure it off to the side so it won’t start accidentally.

2. LOCATE & OPEN
Locate the air filter compartment on your lawn mower’s engine and open it.

3. CHOOSE AIR FILTER
There are 3 common types of air filters – paper, foam or a combination. Replacement is basically the same for all three. For a foam filter, first saturate it with clean oil. Then, open the cover and swap out the filter.

4. INSTALL NEW FILTER
For a paper filter, open the cover, replace the old filter and set the new one in place with the paper edges facing out.

5. REPLACE COVER
Replace the filter cover and screw it in place. Don't operate your engine without an air filter.
