Those are the basics but there are some items that will help make your life so much easier.

 

  1. The Winter Watchman is the perfect device to make sure your home stays nice and warm when you are on a trip. This affordable device plugs into your outlet and you plug a lamp into it and has a temperature gauge.  You set it to activate when the temps drop below a certain level if your boiler of furnace were to fail and then it turns the light on.  Alerting your neighbors there is an issue while you are away.  No high tech, no WIFI. It just works.

  2. A vent magnet can help you to balance out hot and cold spots in your home. By sticking this over a vent you can test an area to see if you can get the temperature just right 24 hours a day.

  3. Grampa’s Weeder, if you are looking for an organic way to rid your lawn of weeds then here it is. A weed puller on a pole.  Jab the weed. step on the arm, rotate the handle to the side and pull out the weed.  No bending needed.

  4. Cobra sink cleaner, 90% of a the time a clogged drain is because the clog is within 5 feet of the drain. With a 20’ reach and it will do the job and not break.

  5. Heading out of town turn some lights on and then screw in LED lightbulbs with built in timers to make the home appear to be lived in.
