How To Feed Your Lawn This Summer

Step 3

For years you have been hearing about 4-Step plans. Many manufacturers make them and you can choose the one that works best for you and your budget. Your local Ace always has a good selection.

Step 3

Right now we are in the time frame of Step-3.  As the summer heats up and perhaps the rain is not as prevalent, a mid-summer feeding will keep your lawn green, healthy and strong.  While not critical,  mow your lawn and then apply the fertilizer as recommended by the maker with a lawn spreader.  It’s not necessary to water the fertilizer in,  but if you are not expected to get any rain for ten days or so it can’t hurt.  This feeding will add nitrogen and keep the root system of your lawn strong and help it to crowd out weeds.  So if you want to keep enjoying the way your lawn looks right now give it a little snack and enjoy.
