Traeger Nashville Hot Turkey Sandwich

Ingredients                           

Hot Turkey Melt 

  • 1 Recipe - Baked Cheddar Poblano Biscuits
  • 2 lbs - Cooked Turkey Breast
  • 8 Slices - Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • 16 Slices - Pepper jack Cheese
  • 16 Slices - Bread and Butter Pickles

Nashville Hot Sauce

Build Instructions

  • 1 Cheddar Poblano Biscuit, Sliced in half
  • ¼ lb Turkey Breast, Sliced Thin
  • 4-6 Tbsp Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 1 Slice Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • 2 Slices Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 2 Slices Bread and Butter Pickles

Cooking Directions

  1. Load pellet hopper with Reserve Blend Pellets, ignite Traeger and set temp to 400˚
  2. Add All sauce ingredients into a small sauce pan
  3. Heat Nashville Hot sauce until the butter is just melted, stir well and remove from the stove
  4. Using a cookie sheet or cast iron skillet(s), arrange melts as follows
    • Biscuit, sliced in half
    • Brush biscuit with Nashville Hot Sauce
    • Sliced Turkey (warmed and brushed with Nashville hot sauce)
    • Cooked bacon
    • Pepper jack cheese
  5. Place the cast iron pan into the Traeger
  6. Bake the melts until cheese is melted and biscuits are toasted, approx. 15-20 minutes
  7. Carefully remove the cast iron pan using heat proof gloves
  8. Allow to cool for 3-5 minutes
  9. Top with bread and butter pickle chips, serve with extra Nashville hot sauce
