Happy Traegering! It’s time for an annual checkup on your favorite cooking tool and we have some helpful tips to keep you well-adjusted and ready to cook for many food adventures ahead. With some proper care, cleaning and maintenance, your Traeger will last for many years and provide you with some great meals.
Tune Top to Bottom
- Chimney/Chimney Cap/Downdraft Exhaust - Ensure good condition and clean if needed
- Lid Hinges – Lid aligned, screws and nuts tightened
- Handle – Ensure good condition, bolts tight
- Side Handle – Ensure good condition, bolts tight
- Grease Bucket – Ensure good condition, clean and free from leaks, empty as needed
- Temperature Probe/Rod – Clean and free from buildup or damage
- Top Grill Grate – Ensure good condition and free from rust/wear, scrape and wipe down as needed
- Bottom Grill Grate – Ensure good condition and free from rust/wear, clean as needed
- Drip Pan – Ensure good condition and free from stuck on debris, damage or wear, scrape stuck debris if needed
- Heat Deflector - Ensure good condition and free from stuck on debris, damage or wear, scrape stuck debris if needed
- Fire Pot – Ensure good condition, free from damage and not plugged
- Tighten wing nuts on Fire Pot and unplug if needed
- Auger Tube - Ensure good condition and free from stuck on debris, damage or wear
- Grill Barrel – Ensure good condition, free from debris, ash or grease buildup.
- Grease Channel – Free from debris, ash or grease buildup. Clear any buildup if necessary
- Grease Drain Tube - Free from debris, ash or grease buildup. Clear any buildup if necessary
- Pellet Hopper – Free from debris or saw dust buildup. Clear any buildup if necessary
- Power Cord – Ensure good condition, no breaks or exposed wires
- Legs – All Bolts and nuts tight and legs are steady and firm.
- Wheels – All Bolts and nuts tight and wheels move freely
- Grill Exterior – Clean and free from buildup, debris or wear. Wipe down and clean as needed
