Dutch Oven Bacon Baked Beans Recipe

Ingredients
2 15 oz. cans pinto beans, drained
2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained
1 pound thick applewood bacon
1 cup red onion, diced
1 tbsp 5280 Fire Salt Culinary Rub
1/2 tsp vanilla paste or vanilla extract
1 tsp fresh ground garlic
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 15 oz. can ground tomatoes
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp 5280 Culinary Rub a Dub seasoning
1 tbsp 5280 Culinary Oink seasoning
1 tsp smoked black ground pepper
Preparation
- Heat Large dutch oven on stove top, grill or smoker
- Saute bacon 1/2 way and add diced red onions. Continue to saute until golden onions and bacon
- Add beans and remaining ingredients
- Bring to simmer, adjust seasoning to suit your spice and sweetness level
- Bake on your grill or in the oven at 375 degrees for about 30-40 minutes until desired smoke level is obtained
- Smoke on your smoker with the lid tilted off for 30-40 minutes or until desired smoke level is obtained
