How to Make Mac and Cheese on the Weber Grill

We’re back with another fun, tasty and easy Mac and Cheese creation.  This time we are on the Weber Grill and cooking in our Weber wok. Treat this Mac and Cheese like a canvas and use it to create some fun mac variations like Cheeseburger Mac or even BBQ Beef mac.


Yield: Serves 4 people    Prep time: 8 Minutes    Cook time: 8-10 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 ea              Wok, Porcelain Enameled
  • 1 lb               Penne Pasta (precooked and chilled)
  • 2 cup            Cheese Sauce (from jar)
  • 1 cup            Alfredo Sauce (from jar)
  • 1 cup            Mac and Cheese Cheese blend
  • 2 cups           Square Cheese Crackers
  • To Taste       Oink Rub, 5280 Culinary

Prep Directions

  1. Follow all prep instructions in the prep notes
  2. Pre-Cook pasta or use pasta ready type products from the grocery store
  3. Wash all tools prior to use
  4. Clean and sanitize all cutting boards and prep surfaces prior to use
  5. Read all manufacturer’s instructions before using grills, starters and any cooking tools

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat Weber grill to 500˚ F
  2. When temp hits 500˚ F add the Weber Wok and allow wok to heat for 5 minutes
  3. Add pasta and sauce to wok and stir to combine
  4. Close grill and mac and cheese cook for 5 minutes
  5. Open grill and add oink rub, cheese and half of the cheese crackers (hand crushed) to the wok, stir to combine
  6. Cook Pasta and sauce until bubbling and hot
  7. Add more cheese cracker crumbs to the top and spread out
  8. Adjust seasoning with Oink if desired
  9. Close dome and cook crust for 2 minutes
  10. Using tongs and heat proof gloves, remove wok from the grill and bring into the kitchen.  Allow to rest for 2-3 minutes so cheese can cool and firm up.
  11. Plate in a large bowl
  12. Devour!!!
